I was the one girl in school who was friends with the “pretty girls”, so I’d feel better about myself. I was told I was ugly. I was told I wouldn’t be anything (by teachers and kids). I was overweight. So, at 12, I starved myself because people told me I was fat. I acted out because I wanted attention anyway I could get it.
NOW, those very girls who made me feel like shit, and those boys who called me ugly are the ones who are on my PAYNUUUUS. I still pick at my flaws. If you pay attention, I still have that SAME scar on my chin. But God made me. Therefore, I AM perfect. I still feel ugly some days. I still feel overweight when I look in the mirror sometimes. I still feel inferior to the girls I hang out with, but what I can say is I’m thankful to be me. I wouldn’t wanna be anyone else.
WE ALL HAVE AWKWARD STAGES. I hate seeing 11-14 year old girls killing themselves to be what the media says you should be. You’re beautiful in your OWN way. Embrace it. Love yourself. If you don’t, WHO WILL?
